Fifth Smoke Signal [video]
Oct. 2nd, 2011 08:45 am[If there was one thing that Charlie found relaxing to do, it was cooking. When the video feed flickered on, this was quite clearly what she was doing. She had procured groceries shortly after her arrival and was now working with what appeared to me shallots, roma tomatoes (chopped and seeds removed), capers, various spices, pasta and chicken. There was also a lemon that had been zested and some parmesan cheese and possibly a bottle of white cooking wine. She did say she knew how to cook. As she cooked, she spoke.]
Apparently, with the mass arrival of all of those people, some of us are seeing people we haven't seen in ages. I'm sure it's fine and amazing for some. Exciting. A reunion between long lost whatever. My question is, though [and she takes a moment to flip the chicken she'd been saute'ing, adding a bit of the cheese and stirring.] are there people that don't want to run into familiar faces? I can't be the only one.
[She's just going to keep cooking as she awaits answers, adding pinches of this and dashes of that as she goes. Wait, we lied. She has more to say.]
I just...I dunno. I think there are several people in my past that, if they showed up, I'd have a heart attack and wouldn't stop myself from having an . . . adverse reaction to their presence, lets say. And then others, if they showed, would just break my heart to see. And I'd also be happy to see them. It'd be very confusing.
[Okay, now she's done and she's stirring a pot of pasta that had been simmering away nearby.]
